How OakMD Works
Read about intake, provider review, laboratory requirements, and prescribing decisions.
Step 1 — Review the Category Information
Browse the medication details, risks, and evaluation requirements for the category you are considering. Listings do not guarantee service availability or eligibility. Some categories currently accept contact requests rather than clinical intakes.
Step 2 — Follow the Category's Next Steps
Where intake is available, you will be asked about medical history, current medications, and symptoms, and to review required consents. A contact request is not a clinical evaluation or a prescription request.
Step 3 — Provider Review
A provider reviews the required information and determines whether further evaluation is needed. Review timing varies. Laboratory testing, a live visit, additional records, or in-person care may be required.
Testosterone therapy requires a live video visit and a laboratory-confirmed diagnosis before treatment can begin.
Step 4 — Prescribing Decision
Treatment is not guaranteed. If medication is prescribed, review the prescription instructions, risks, pharmacy information, and applicable costs before proceeding.
Step 5 — Follow-Up
Follow-up requirements depend on the medication and individual assessment. A provider may request repeat testing, change a prescription, or discontinue treatment. Do not change a dose without prescribing instructions.
