Common Questions
Is a prescription guaranteed after intake?
Evaluation includes symptoms, medical and medication history, and laboratory testing. A low laboratory value alone does not establish a diagnosis or eligibility for a prescription. In-person assessment or specialist referral may be required.
Can TRT affect fertility?
Testosterone can suppress sperm production and cause infertility, testicular shrinkage, acne, fluid retention, breast enlargement, and increased hematocrit. Testosterone is contraindicated in men with active prostate cancer. Sleep apnea and prostate-related concerns require review. Discuss cardiovascular history, prostate or breast cancer, and plans for pregnancy before treatment.
What testing is involved?
Follow-up may include testosterone, hematocrit, estradiol, and PSA testing according to the clinical assessment. Monitoring does not eliminate treatment risks. Do not change a dose or add medication without prescriber instructions.
